Welcome to the Laboratory for Wireless Networking and Security Research (WiNSeR)

Mission Statement

The primary mission of the WiNSeR laboratory is to study and solve challenging problems in wireless systems and networks, cybersecurity, and information privacy, with a particular focus on emerging wireless technologies that enable dynamic spectrum sharing and related security issues.  The current research thrusts of WiNSeR include the following topics:

  • Dynamic spectrum sharing
  • Co-design and co-existence of heterogeneous wireless technologies, including coexistence of radar and communication systems
  • Emerging wireless technologies and applications, including V2X communications, 5G, and IoT
  • Wireless security and privacy
  • Security issues in machine learning
  • Applied cryptography
  • Prototyping and evaluation using large-scale wireless testbeds

Dr. Jerry Park is the Director of WiNSeR as well as the Site Director of the Broadband Wireless Access & Applications Center (BWAC).  BWAC is a multi-university research center sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) under its Industry-University Cooperative Research Center (I/UCRC) program.  Please visit the BWAC website for up-to-date information on the Center’s research projects and activities.
